A US teenager, Anna Crail, recalls her near-death experience when flames engulfed her iPhone 6 during a 10-hour flight to Honolulu, Hawaii.
Crail, 19, from Washington, was on an Alaskan airline to Honolulu when her iPhone 6 caught fire, according to the Mirror.
She tweeted, "Legit saw my life flash before my eyes tonight when my phone burst into flames mid-flight and caught the plane on fire,” after the incident.
"All of the sudden there was like 8-inch flames coming out of my phone," she said.
Eyewitnesses reported that she was watching a movie at the time, but it was unclear whether she was watching via the device or the on-board entertainment system.
The flight continued to its destination and touched down 90 minutes later.
An Alaska Air spokesperson said in a statement that its crew members are specifically trained for this type of situation.
Both Alaska Air is investigating the fire. Apple is also said to be looking into the incident.
