Hiram Boateng was thrilled to make his Premier League debut for Crystal Palace in their 1-1 draw away to Swansea City on Saturday.The Ghanaian born midfielder was a 70 minute substitute for Alan Pardew's side against Swansea when he replaced France international Yohan Cabaye.

"It was a great experience for me, to be honest," he said after the game. "I'd dreamed of this day since I was a little boy. It's good of the manager to have put his trust in me. It felt good!"

The central midfielder was the first Academy graduate to debut in the league for the Eagles in over four years. After the draw at Swansea City, he revealed what Alan Pardew had said to him before entering the action.
"He just said to me: 'go on, make an impact, just try to do something to change the game,' and obviously I tried my best to do that. We've come away with a point, which is good."

The 20-year-old also admitted to feeling slightly nervous before making his bow, but quickly settled. "Coming on I had a bit of butterflies, but after about five minutes I settled down and thought I played quite well," he said.
"The fans were definitely good, they were singing all game. That's great for the team, it pushes the team to do well. It's been really good."
