Fire gutted the girls’ dormitory of the Kumasi Senior High Technical School at Patase in Kumasi of the Ashanti region on Wednesday.
The fire according to an eyewitness started at dawn around 2am.

The Headmaster of the school, Asare Bediako Amponsah said the school authorities called the fire service personnel and managed to douse the inferno.

Items destroyed by the fire included books, mattresses, trunks, chop boxes, dresses and other personal belongings of the students who are on vacation.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
