The improvement of the education sector continues to be a bane of contention as Ghana strives to train quality human resource for its development efforts.

Some disgruntled parents and guardians on Thursday, September 7, besieged the premises of the CSSPS as the deadline for placement of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates who qualified for SHS placement but were not posted expires today.

Some also complained of their inability to access the placement website.

The Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for placement of BECE candidates who qualified for SHS placement.

The Ministry gave parents and guardians some additional days to complete the placement and registration process for their wards up to September 7, 2017 to complete the registrations.

A parent, who pleaded anonymity, accused officials of the CSSPS of placing his ward in a day school instead of a boarding school.

One other parent said "we are being frustrated too much. We can’t take it again. If they can’t pick the kids, they should let us take our children to private schools."

Some unhappy parents and their wards said they are making frantic efforts to get their preferred placement.
