The boy, named withheld, told Joy FM's "Home Affairs" programme that he was abducted by the perpetrators when he was sent on an errand by another senior.

The student, now in his third year in one of the all-male SHS in the country, says he has rejected several sexual advances from the seniors who raped him.

“I was very harsh to him and I told him off,” he said. “Two weeks after that, after prep, one senior sent me to get him something and somehow I was abducted, taken into a bush and gang raped.”

He tells host of Home Affairs, Edem Knight-Tay, that he has not told his parents about it.

He got to know his HIV status when a health screening exercise was organised in his school.

According to him, he has contemplated suicide because he feels his life is going nowhere.

“I told my senior [about it] but he said he knew, and was on the anti-retroviral drugs so it was not dangerous for him.

“I was shattered, I have not been able to tell my parents. I have contemplated suicide and although I am in year three, I feel my life is going nowhere.”
