Staff of Kenya Airways heckle female passenger for questioning them

In a video shared on Facebook by one Pearlyn Adwoa Budu, the staff can be seen preventing a woman who questioned them from boarding the flight.

Pearlyn Adwoa Budu narrated that “flight was delayed by about two hours at this point, no announcements, no apology from KQ. At this point, passengers were understandably upset.”

“This woman said to the ground staff that it was 'Nkwasiasem' (nonsense)... that's what ended in her being ejected from the flight in this manner. 12.09.2017 Accra to Nairobi. Absolutely disgusting. They were physically preventing her from boarding. #kenyaairwaysabuse.”

This led to reactions from social media users.

On Facebook Jemila Wumpini Abdulai called on Kenya Airways to take their customer service more seriously.

“Kenya Airways - we are barely done with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, you really want us to get started with you? This is someone's aunt, daughter, mother, sister - a human being. So disrespectful, how dare you! Customer service must be taken seriously for the simple fact that the other person is a person. Human.”

Meanwhile, Kenya Airways has indicated in a Facebook post that they are investigating the incident.

We have immediately initiated investigations into the matter and will follow through to a fair and proper conclusion; including necessary sanctions to all offending parties.”

“We have identified the lady in the video, retrieved her contact details and are currently making efforts to reach her. Kenya Airways condemns all abusive and violent behaviour and will continue to join you and the rest of the world to promote safety and respect in society,” the statement concluded.
