Finance Minister buys Kantanka car

Private legal practitioner Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko showed the car on his Facebook wall.

The Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has bought a Ghana-made saloon car from Kantanka.

“Kantanka Saloon. My next dream car. This belongs to the Finance Minister,” he wrote.

The Nana Addo-led government has often encouraged Ghanaians to patronise products made in Ghana in order to boost the economy of the country.

During the campaign ahead of the 2016 elections, the then-flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, visited the Kantanka assembling plant and promised to acquire some for his 2016 campaign.

Nana Akufo-Addo, at the time, said: “Earlier today, I test drove a Kantanka Omama pickup and promised to purchase a few for the upcoming campaign. I assured the Management and Staff of Kantanka Automobile Ltd and by extension all local manufacturing companies that when I win the 2016 election and become President, my government will support local, Ghanaian manufacturing companies”.
