‘Trotro’ drivers rescue journalist from being lynched

The reporter had gone to investigate reports of an illegal siting of a fuel station in the area.

Isaac Nsiah Foster, who works with Kumasi-based Otec FM was chased by construction workers with some dangerous objects after they found him at the site.

According to the reporter, the owner of the fuel station whose name was given as John Appiah asked him to identify himself or he would be killed.

He said that after identifying himself, the owner of the fuel station ordered the labourers at the site to deal with him after accusing him of being a criminal and an intruder.

The journalist decided to take to his heels, but was pursued by the labourers who were wielding shovels and pick-axes.

He said that but for the timely intervention of residents and some commercial drivers plying the area who came to save him, he would have been lynched.

Nsiah is, however, yet to lodge an official complaint to the police for investigation.
