Serie A side Fiorentina are interested in signing Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari this summer, according to gianlucadimarzio.com.

The 30-year old as his contract officially terminated earlier in the week, after falling out with Milan in the course of last season.

His departure from the Italian fashion-capital doesn't necessarily mean he will leave the country as a whole since Fiorentina's Sporting Director Daniel Pradé has expressed an interest in him, Di Marzio reports.

The Viola could look to make an official move for the player soon to strengthen their midfield for the upcoming season.

Muntari managed 16 league appearances last season in Serie A for the Rossoneri. His previous clubs include Inter Milan, Portsmouth and Sunderland.
