He is demanding GHC 5m compensatory damages.

Awuah-Darko has also sued Multimedia’s Asempa FM as well as Kennedy Agyapong’s Madina-based Oman FM, for using their platforms to destroy his reputation.

Mr Awuah Darko said that the Assin Central MP alleged on the two FM stations that he [Kwame Awuah-Darko] had embezzled state funds and was currently living abroad.

According to him, Kennedy Agyapong said on Asempa FM that, “Kwame Awuah-Darko, when we search his account, we found 100 million dollars… He has run away, now living abroad… He shuttles between Virginia, South Africa and Dubai. I have been monitoring him seriously… These people are wicked people…”

He further indicated in the suit that, the MP on Oman FM, said:“the crimes these people commit must not go unpunished. So far the documents I have in my possession shows (sic) an embezzlement of 230 million dollars recorded as losses for BOST under Awuah-Darko… and then his own bank account after we tracked him down, we discovered an amount of 100 million dollars. These guys don’t even know how to steal. He didn’t even know that we could track him… 100 million dollars… yes 100 million dollars.”

Awuah Darko has since indicated that the claims by Ken Agyapong are false.

The suit by the former BOST MD follows a similar one by the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD), Senyo Hosi, who has also sued Mr Agyapong for defamation, demanding GHC 8M.
