Man stabs ex-lover for snubbing him at funeral

Prosecuting Detective Sergeant Simeon Terkpor said the accused and the complainant, were in a relationship and cohabited. They had a child who is currently 9 years old.

The accused, Daniel Nunoo, who has been washing cars for a living, bolted after committing the crime but was later arrested.

The Court that heard the case on Tuesday adjourned it to November 21, 2017.

He has provisionally been charged with attempted murder.

Prosecuting Detective Sergeant Simeon Terkpor told the court that, the complainant, Charlotte Kai Adjetey, aged 29, is a cook residing at La, Accra.

The accused person also resides in the same area.

He said that the accused and Ms Adjetey were in a relationship and cohabited. They had a child who is currently 9 years old.

Nunoo used to abuse Ms Adjetey, causing her to break up with him.

The two attended the same funeral on October 8, 2017.

The prosecution said the complainant at a point in time decided to leave the funeral grounds.

Nunoo then called her but the complainant ignored him.

Nunoo then grabbed Ms Nunoo and stabbed her with an implement. She fell unconscious after bleeding for a while.

“The accused person left the complainant to her fate, however, she was rescued by two men, who rushed her to the 37 Military Hospital where she was admitted and two surgeries performed on her.”

Nunoo was arrested on October 16, 2017.
