Tension heightens in Bimbila over planned burial of chief
The Gbugmayili family claims that the decision by government to bury the late Nakpa Naa is against customs and traditions, hence the choice to resist the burial.

The family further argues that according to their customs, the late Nakpa Naa was not Bimbila Naa, therefor they would resist any attempt by the Regional Security Council to bury his corpse in the Gbugmayili cemetery.
They added that the late chief never succeeded the Bimbila Paramountcy.

Spokesperson for the Gbugmayili family, Tahidu Osman-Kikaa, alleged in a press conference held in Accra on Wednesday, October 11 that, the family sees it as a deliberate attempt by the Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo-led administration to create anarchy in Bimbilla. Tahidu Osman-Kikaa maintained that "this move by the President is not in conformity with our traditions".
