Chiefs who settle defilement cases in palaces to be sanctioned
Several cases of rape and defilement have been settled in palaces where the suspects have been proclaimed innocent. However, Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi, the national house of chiefs will not tolerate such actions again.

He said this at the town hall meeting organized by the Mfantseman Information Service Department at Mankessim.
He said the increasing rate of rape cases in the country is worrying and cannot be allowed to continue.

According to Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi, the national house of chiefs has taken a strong stand against the practice and has vowed to give severe sanction to any chief who may attempt to settle defilement case in the palace.

He also called on parents to stop asking their unemployed female children for money.
He argued that it is a contributing factor to the increase in teenage pregnancy.
