NDC MP in a 'thug of war' with youth organizer over campaign cars

The MP said the Rambo style seizure of the vehicles was occasioned by the refusal of the campaign team members, to hand over the vehicles to the owners.

The former Minister, who doubles as the MP for Tamale Central, claimed he secured the vehicles for some members of the campaign team who are executives with the understanding that they would be returned after the elections.

According to him, this was aimed at catering for the logistical constraint that was encountered by the party prior to the 2016 polls but after the elections, persons including the Regional Youth Organizer and others deliberately refused to return their vehicles.

But Alhaji Mohammed Aminu Adam said he was forced to turn himself and the vehicle in to the police after receiving a warning phone call from the metropolitan police commander who told him Inusah Fuseini had reported to police he stole the vehicle.

"I had a call from my colleagues and the campaign coordinator that there is a new calls from Honorable Inusah, that instead of me to use the vehicle for the purpose that it was given to me and other party works,  I’m rather using the vehicle to campaign for professor Alabi, who is a direct opponent of His Excellency John, the former president who employed him and he worked to earn and bought those vehicles to support the campaign and for that matter he was taking it," he said.
