He said the right thinking Ghanaians, well cultured abhors watching pornographic movies.

Maurice Ampaw speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua FM said "In every situation, you will have people who will support useless stuff. The right thinking Ghanaians, well cultured abhors pornographic materials, that is why traditionally one cannot talk about sex."

His comments come at the back of some Ghanaians who had earlier raised concerns about the extent at which such pornographic materials are being streamed on the above television stations.

Maurice Ampaw on his part said Christians and Muslims hate to watch pornographic movies adding that only the mad people will watch sexy movies on televisions.

"Morally, Christians also abhors pornographic materials, as for Muslims, they will throw stones at you for watching pornographic movies. Owners and viewers of Television stations which air pornographic movies are sick in the head. Quote me anywhere, anybody who watches pornographic movie or materials is not a right thinking member of society. Its madness, they are mentally deranged so their rights cannot override the right thinking members of society’s rights," he said.

However, some ace broadcasters have petitioned the National Media Commission to take action against television stations that telecast "pornographic materials" late evenings.

In the said petition, the two ace broadcasters, Tommy Annan-Forson and James Oberko said from May 26 to June 7, they monitored and realised that that stations like Ice TV, XYZ TV and Thunder TV were streaming pornographic content contrary to the broadcasting guidelines.

But the National Media Commission has indicated that it will not take any action against some three television stations that have been reported to them for broadcasting pornographic contents.
