Tension is mounting in the NDC in the Mpraeso constituency in the Eastern region following a clash between party executives and the District Chief Executive Joseph Omari.

The reason for the clash is unknown, but Pulse.com.gh can confirm that the two parties have not been on good terms. The constituency executives after accusing the DCE of abandoning party members in the constituency suspended him subsequently.

"They assaulted my secretary in the process.  After the attack, they went to report to the police that I attacked them with pepper spray.

"They came with evil intentions. They came with hammer. I wasn't aware of any plan to attack me, I would have armed myself" Joseph Omari said.

When Pulse.com.gh contacted the Mpraeso police, the commander ASP Emmanuel Owiredu Darkwa said the police are investigating to ascertain the side which initiated the attack.

"We are taking statements from both parties and if possible put all of them before court for the law to take its own course." Said ASP Owiredu Darkwa.
