Chiefs in Assin, Twifu, Denkyira and Abuakwa, all communities in the Central Region have warned the ruling National Democratic Congress and opposition parties not to canvass for votes in their traditional areas ahead of the November polls.

Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs, the Abuakwahene who doubles as Nifahene of Denkyira Traditional Council, Daasebre Oduro Akenteng II indicated that all their roads are in a deplorable state, making it difficult for farmers to transport   farm produce to the market.

He bemoaned the situation, indicating that all activities in the area are halted when it rains.

The Abuakwahene cautioned that they will not allow politicians to campaign on their lands until all the roads linking Dunkwa on- offin and Twifu praso are tarred.

He revealed that they lack infrastructural development, blaming successive governments of neglecting people of Denkyira, Assin and Twifu.

According to him, they were taken aback when President  Dramani Mahama, in his state of the Nation’s address stated emphatically that the Dunkwa- Twifu Prado road had been tarred.
