Over 100 golfers set to thrill at MTN Invitational Golf on Saturday

Over one hundred golfers from all over Ghana are expected to compete for glory and prizes when the MTN final golf tournament of the year tees off this Saturday, December 9 at the Celebrity Golf Course in Sakumono, near Tema.

Keen to earn bragging rights are members from various golf clubs around the country, among them Tema, Bok Nam Kim, Obuasi, Royal Golf Club (Kumasi), Damang, Goldfields (Tarkwa) and Takoradi who have variously registered for the one-day tournament.

According to Mr Emmanuel Gyasi, Business Segment Manager at the MTN sponsors, during the year under review, MTN sponsored golf competitions across the country including the CEO Invitational tournaments in Sakumono and Takoradi, Tema Classic golf tournament as well South Africa Freedom Day Tournament at Celebrity.

Mr Gyasi emphasized that MTN has used the opportunity golf offers to interact with their high value clients who also seizes the opportunity offered by the competition to share business ideas and network on the golf course whilst also promoting the sport.

''A lot of business deals are hatched and executed during golf play," he noted.

''Again as much as its an opportunity to relax after a heavy days work at the office, MTN uses this opportunity to say thank you to our high value customer," Mr. Gyasi added.

He also assures that MTN will continue to support and sponsor golf competitions in 2018 and beyond with the introduction of new innovations.

''We will continue to own the golf space and continue to encourage and motivate more Ghanaians to take up the sport," he stressed.

Prizes for Saturday's event include trophies, devices as well as broadbands for winners.
