Kotoko coach: Injuries caused our defeat to WAFA

David Duncan has stated that his side was let down by injuries in their 0-2 loss to the Academy boys

Asante Kotoko were stunned by WAFA on Saturday when they handed them a 2-0 defeat, thanks to 2 goals in both halves from Charles Boateng and Samuel Tetteh.

Kotoko were compelled to make two force substations in the first half of the game and prior to the game two of their attackers Kwame Boateng and Dauda Mohammed had been sidelined by injuries and David Duncan believes that caused their defeat, but they came in strongly in the second half to showcase good football.

“I think our defeat was largely due to the fact that we had injury concerns ahead of the game and we also had to make two force substitutions in the first half.

“Although we lost, I think it was a game of two halves. They dominated the first half and took their chances, but we took over the second half,” he told Pulse Sports.

Kotoko were tagged the  favourites to win the 2015-16 season after they swept most of the trophies they competed in during the pre-season.

The lesson taught Kotoko by WAFA would let them sit up entering into their subsequent league games
