Coach Yusif Basigi talks CAF Awards and U-20 World Cup qualification

Ghana u-20 women's national team coach talks on the fortunes of his team in the CAF Awards and world cup qualifiers

The Ghana Black Princesses recorded remarkable feats by scoring 20 goals in 4 games against Algeria and Kenya respectively.

The two ties where they dispatched Algeria by a 10-0 and later moved on to score 10-1 against Kenya.

This got the side nominated for CAF Women’s National Team of the Year.

Coach Yusif Basigi in speaking to the media spoke and made the statement that the Black Princesses and the other nominees all stand a chance of making winning the coveted prize on 4th January,2018.

“I think the other contenders are doing well so we all stand the chance of winning the award per the performance of all the girls.”

Ghana are to face the Cameroon on a double header in January, 2018

Coach Yusif Basigi had says he respects the Cameroonian counterparts going into those two ties on 12th and 26th January, 2018.

"The Cameroonians are a very good side and we need to respect that. For that matter we need to up our game in order to up to the task.

"For sure we respect their good performance."

Cameroon beat Guinea 9-0 in the first leg of the u-20 world cup qualifiers but have not had any action since Guinea pulled out in the 2nd leg.

Cameroon’s next opponent Sierra Leone pulled out of the two ties and this has seen them face Ghana in 2018.
