Deputy Sports Minister Pius Enam Hadzide has looked back at Ghana failing to qualify to the 2018 FIFA World Cup and believes that Kwesi Appiah would have qualified Ghana supposing he started the campaign.
When we took over as a government we were on one point and other countries were five points ahead of us. The task was always going to be difficult.
We thought that we should have won our home game against Congo but we drew that game. We did not win a single home game so how were we going to qualify.

“We had to build a new coach and new team so that we hopefully bond and mature. From what I have seen I believe that it would have been a different story if the current coach and the current team were involved form the beginning.”
