Mohammed Polo says the technical team has too many ex-players

The "dribbling magician" thinks the Black Stars technical team should rather be shared across all youth levels.

Speaking to the media, Mohammed Polo expressed the view that the national youth teams should also receive appointments of such nature.

He did say that sharing the brains at the senior level across the youth levels will rather be much more productive.

He first made the point that football experienced in the time of the 70’s and 80’s should have a linkage with the current generation.

“There are some areas which need to be looked at and that is what is missing. Theplayersin thetime of the70’s, 80’s andeven90’s arenot comingintothesystem,” Mohammed Polo said.

He also made the point that the current personnel at in Black Stars team should have been shared across all the national team levels. This is because he feels there is less work to be done at Senior National Team.

“We have Kwesi Appiah, Maxwell Konadu, Ibrahim Tanko and Stephen Appiah at the same place. Thisisan areathatneedsnospecial training. You just select them and go and play.

"What about those who are coming up?  We parade all of them at the national level and leave the u-17 and U-20 for who to do that?”

He ended by saying these individuals should be training players on the local scene

“They need to be trained and we go and gather all these people at the senior level. All these people should be training players in the League because that is where the standard is coming from”.

The Black Stars is currently manned by the a group of five players who are ex Black Stars players Head Coach James Kwesi Appiah, Assistant coaches Maxwell Konadu and Ibrahim Tanko, Technical Coordinator Stephen Appiah and Goalkeeper’s trainer Richard Kingson.
