Football game abandoned after ten red cards

A game between Vitoria and Bahia in Brazil witnessed ten red cards.

The first half saw six yellow cards flashed and Denilson’s goal separated Vitoria from Bahia, but the players threw caution to the wind and engaged in a brutal fight after the break.

In the 50 minute Vinicius scored the equaliser for the visitors from the spot kick and he celebrated by dancing to the annoyance of Vitoria fans.

Both teams were engaged in disagreement and they started throwing punches at each other. The game was halted for barely 16 minutes and the referee in order to restore sanity in the game gave 8 players the matching off orders- five to Bahia players, with Vinicius and three substitutes among those dismissed.

The match continued, but when Vitoria had two further players dismissed 11 minutes from time, it was abandoned, with Bahia likely to be awarded a 3-0 victory.
