El Hadji Diouf speaks about his new career in politics

El Hadji Diouf has a new career in politics and wants to change lives with it.

Former CAF African Player of the Year El Hadji Diuof has spoken about his aspirations of being an astute politician in his home land Senegal.

El Hadji Diuof spoke to Accra-based Radio Station, Class Fm where he spoke about new found love in politics as he hopes to influence policies in his country to change lives

“I am looking after myself and my family. For many years, I used to think about football but I have a new career and it is a political career.“"I have taken the decision to do politics because I have people waiting for me to change things in my country and I am ready to do that,” he said.

The former Livepool player El Hadji Diouf is currently a goodwill ambassador and the special advisor on sports to the Senegalese President Macky Sall.

Diuof is also running a sports newspaper and a gym in  Dakar.

El Hadji Diouf won the CAF African Footballer of the Year in 2001 and 2002.

He also won the BBC African Footballer of the Year in 2001.
