Tom Strand set to walk away from Accra Great Olympics

The Swedish coach to part ways with Accra side after being asked to deputize his immediate past assistant coach Godwin Attram in Accra Great Olympics

Tom Strand is not happy with the turn of events as Godwin Attram has been reinstated as head coach of the side.

Great Olympics are once again on the verge of being relegated in the Ghana Premier League season. Tom Strand decided to leave the club after he was being asked to deputize Godwin Attram as head coach.

The story of Olympics for the season has been that the side qualified from Division One with Godwin Attram as head coach. After a round of bad results, Strand was appointed as head coach with Attram being made deputy to turn things around for the side.

This decision did not go down well with Godwin Attram. Under the Swedish head coach, the club were not able to churn out consistent results as they would have wanted.

In the two games after the league went on recess predominantly in August, Godwin Attram has been in the ranks manning the side as head coach.

Strand confirmed to Ghana Soccernet that he had resigned after the high ranks in the clubs asked him to deputize Godwin Attram.

He did also confirmed that he has written a resignation letter and he is expecting the club to respond and discuss terms of contract termination.

Strand also has GH₵ 35,000 fine over his head as he has his former club that amount to his former club Medeama for unlawfully terminating the contract with the Tarkwa based side
