The Magpies winger has promised the club’s fans his best performance yet, as the season draws near.
Atsu was on loan from Chelsea at the St. James Park outfit last season, and played a crucial role as the Magpies staged a quick return to the English topflight after just a year in the Championship.
The 25-year-old was subsequently tied to a permanent deal after impressing Newcastle United coach Rafael Benitez.
And the winger believes he can get even better, insisting the Toon fans will see the better of him in the coming season.
“I think I’m more confident this season. I believe I will be better than last season,” Atsu said in an interview with The Chronicle.
“I’m working hard. I know I will give my best for Newcastle and they will see the best of me.
“There’s nothing new now for me. I don’t have to find a new house, so I can settle in well. I just want to play.
"I want to do well for the fans and the team. There is no stress.
“But we want wins and we want to be focused for the Premier League in a few weeks.
“This is where the season starts for us. We will keep fighting and providing competition for the team.”
He added that “the main aim is to fight for [a place in] the first XI" insisting he will “give 100 per cent” to see the Magpies finish in a respectable position this season.
