Ghanaian Players Abroad Raphael Dwamena wants to emulate Tony Yeboah in the Premier League

The striker is already aiming big ahead of his switch to the English topflight.

Ghana attacker Raphael Dwamena is bent on becoming a major hit in the English Premier League, insisting he wants to emulate compatriot Anthony Yeboah.

Premier League new boys Brighton & Hove Albion have reached an agreement with FC Zurich for the transfer of Dwamena, with the striker now set to undergo a medical.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed success in Austria and Switzerland were he scored a combined 32 goals in 43 appearances for Austria Lustenau and FC Zurich between 2016 and 2017.

And the Ghanaian international is already looking forward to replicating that kind of form in the English topflight, saying he wants to reach the level of compatriot, and former Leeds United striker, Anthony Yeboah.

Tony was a great player for Ghana and as a young player; you will definitely have someone to look up to,” Dwamena said, as quoted by Ghanasoccernet.com.

"Tony was a great player for Ghana and as a young player; you will definitely have someone to look up to.

"I cannot be like him because I have not reached his level yet. I can only hope to get anywhere closer to what he did."

Tony Yeboah is one of the most impactful Ghanaians to ever play in the Premiership, with his wonder goal against Liverpool rated as one of the greatest goals ever to be scored in the English topflight.

The former Black Stars striker scored 24 goals in just 47 appearances in his two-year stay with Leeds United.
