Asante Kotoko were undefeated in their first four FA Cup clashes with Hearts of Oak.

On the field of play Hearts have won just one FA Cup against Kotoko, but they were declared winners of the 1990 final due to Kotoko’s use of an unqualified player making it two wins.

The 1979 game between them which Hearts won on penalties after a 2-2 draw is considered a draw. In football competitions when a team wins on penalties after a drawn game, it is considered a draw in head to head terms.
