Kotoko coach admits that his team was wasteful against Medeama

Asante Kotoko Coach Steve Pollack has admitted his side could not put away chances despite winning semi-final clash against Medeama.

Coach Pollack had his team book a date with arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak for the final of the MTN FA Cup on October 29, 2017 at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Kotoko beat Medeama Sporting Club by 1-0 with an extra time goal through Saddick Adams. Adams was able to stand on his ground after a penalty box scuffle and pounce on the loose ball to finish home.

The goal scorer had a torrid time after he was introduced into the game by the 66th minute of regulation time. Adams missed an array of glorious opportunities which prevented Kotoko from getting ahead as the game was forced into extra time.

“We did not put the chances away but that makes no difference, we are in the final.”

The league went on a break for the WAFU tournament and Pollack did state that the pause in the league contributed to the pattern of play in the semi-final clash.

“That is expected. People want to come watch an exciting final but when you have not played for four weeks at a high tempo you will see it in your first game.
