Ghana humble Congo in reverse fixture

A spirited Black Stars hammered their Congolese counterparts 1-5 on Tuesday in Brazzaville

Ghana had surprisingly been held to a 1-1 draw in Kumasi to shatter the high hopes of the home fans, but the Stars travelled to Brazzaville and taught the Congolese a lesson of their life with a 1-5 comfortable win.

In the game hat-trick from Thomas Partey and a brace from Richmond Boakye Yiadom gave the Black Stars a comfortable 1-5 victory

Bifoumi was the first player to cause a threat in the game when he beat a Ghanaian player but had his ball miss the post by few inches.

The early stages of the game was an end to end affair with both sides failing to create an opportunity.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom started the scoring for the Black Stars in the 23rd minute when he tapped in the goal from a goal mouth melee to set the tone for Ghana.

Before, Christian Atsu took on a player along the left flank and created space before he put through Thomas Partey who slotted it home to double the lead for Ghana in the 26th minute to double Ghana's lead

However, Lloyd reduced the deficit for the hosts when he rose high to nod home from the corner kick in the 42 minute.

Before, Partey restored the two-goal advantage for the Black Stars, after he scored perfectly from another ball from Atsu on the stroke of half time.

The first half ended 1-3 in favour of the four times champions of Africa.

Thomas Partey in the 69 minute intercepted a pass in the Congolese goal area and send a volley past the goalkeeper to make it 4-1 and recorded his maiden Black Stars hat-trick.

And in the 85 minute Harrison Afful outwitted his marker, before he gave a through ball to Boakye Yiadom who controlled it and afterwards displaced the goalkeeper.
