Black Starlets coach tells critics to leave Ayiah alone

Paa Kwesi Fabin believes captain Eric Ayiah is being unfairly criticised for his output at the U-17 tournament.

Goals from the striker and Richard Danso made sure Ghana prevailed to the quarter-finals of the Under-17 World Cup being hosted in India.

However, Ayiah has been in the spotlight after missing a number of gilt-edged changes, including a penalty in the encounter.

The Ghana skipper was also culpable for some big misses during the Black Starlets’ 1-0 loss to USA in the group stages.

However, he has been defended by his coach, who believes the young striker is being unfairly criticised.

“What do they know about him to criticize him, he is our skipper and he is doing well,” Fabin is quoted as saying by Starrsportsgh.

“What do they want him to do again?

“The guy has scored three goals and is doing very well.

Ayiah is the talisman for the Black Starlets, with the Charity Stars striker already recording three goals at the tournament.
