George Weah won triple awards in 1995 at the time he was playing for Paris Saint Germain- won the FIFA Footballer of the Year, the Ballon d’Or (European Footballer of the Year) and the African Footballer of the Year to make history as the first and only African player to do so.
Figures from the National Elections Commission (NEC) in Liberia put George Oppong Weah ahead in 11 out of 15 counties, although most votes have yet to be counted.
