SWAG President slams Kotoko board

What is the role of the board and what have they been contributing to Kotoko? - Kwabena Yeboah asks.

According to the ace sports journalist the club’s board are the reason for the Kumasi giants woes adding that the board’s decision to hand over a letter to the General Manager Opoku Nti regarding his tenure in office [which ends June 30] is contradictory.

“The decision came to me as major surprise not because I want Opoku Nti to run Kotoko forever. No, that is not the point. I find contradiction in the letter given to Opoku,” Yeboah told Hot FM.

“First of all if in the opinion and in the wisdom of the board Opoku Nti is not the right person to handle the team, I think they should be bold enough and to bring whoever they think is good enough to handle the team. When they write a letter to the young man and tell him his tenure is over, he should hand over the properties of the team and in same vain they say continue until further notice what signal are they sending, I don’t really get it.

“We just commenced the second round of the league, so why are they fixing it when it is not broken. I don’t think the problem of Kotoko is Opoku Nti. If there is a major problem in Kotoko, it has to do with the board because so far as I’m concern the board is non-existent.

“What is the role of the board and what have they been contributing to Kotoko, they are very loud on paper, I think they have nothing better to offer Kotoko. If I was in their shoes, I will go to the great man [Otumfuo] himself and say Nana you gave us a responsibility and at this stage we can’t lead your great team to where you expected, to be honest I don’t see hope in this board,” he concluded.
