Ghanaian midfelder undergoes intensive pre-season training at Atletico Madrid

A gym session and 70 minutes of ball work on Monday was how Atletico Madrid began their pre-season preparations in San Rafael.

After a few exercises and 10 minutes of running on the new field, which was formerly a golf course, Diego Simeone presided over a 10-a-side training game with the goalkeepers absent.

Making up one team were Juanfran, Stefan Savic, Diego Godin, Filipe Luis, Yannick Carrasco, Gabi, Thomas Partey, Nico Gaitan, Angel Correa and Fernando Torres.The other side featured Sime Vrsaljko, Jose Gimenez, Lucas Hernandez, Sergi, Juan Moreno, Matias Kranevitter, Augusto, Keidi, Santos Borre and Luciano Vietto.H

However, Kevin Gameiro did not take part as he continues to undergo his physiotherapy treatment in Madrid.
