Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong stirred the pot following Tuesday's Tour de France stage, referring to the perceived notion doping was still prevalent in the sport.

Armstrong, who has already created headlines due to his decision to ride the path of two stages at the 2015 Tour for charity, commented following Chris Froome's dominant victory in stage 10 from Tarbes to La Pierre-Saint-Martin.

Froome's Team Sky team-mate Richie Porte supported the Briton for much of the stage, completing a stage quinella 59 seconds back from the winner.

"Getting lots of questions regarding today's first mountain stage @letour. Some thoughts to follow," Armstrong began a series of tweets with.

"1. Clearly Froome/Porte/Sky are very strong. Too strong to be clean? Don't ask me, I have no clue.

"2. The first mtn [mountain] stage is always unpredictable. The day after a rest day is also unpredictable. Combine the two and its 10x.

"3. Nibali's tour looks to be over.

"Finally, this @letour is NOT over. Those initial hard efforts that Sky put out today tend to add up and there is a ton of racing left."

He later replied to a critic with: "I'm not accusing anyone In fact, quite the opposite. I'm not interested (nor do I have the credibility) to opine there."
