Console opens up multiplayer gaming to PCs and competing consoles
On its Xbox Wire, the American manufacturer announced that it has given the possibility for developers to make their games compatible with the "cross-network play."
This means that users of Xbox One and Windows 10 will have the opportunity, when they play online via Xbox Live, to play with gamers playing the same game on other consoles, such as non-Windows 10 PCs or the PlayStation Network for the PS4 (note that Microsoft does not explicitly mention the PS4 in his article but speaks well "other consoles").
Obviously, the activation of cross-network play between Xbox Live and PlayStation Network will depend on each developer/publisher and their agreement with Sony.
The announcement does not mean that all multiplayer games now allow users of different platforms to compete. However, the possibility exists
