One of the vehicles in the president's convoy is said to have run into the vehicle carrying the journalists, a Multimedia journalist who was part of the press corps confirmed.

Press men in the Western Region returning from president John Mahama's commissioning ceremony of a new community Senior High School have been involved in an accident.

The accident happened around 7:00pm on the road between Beahu and Akowen communities in the Western Region, Monday.
No fatalities have been recorded but some of the journalists are said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries.
A Citi FM correspondent whose injury appears to be quite serious has been rushed to the hospital.
