Valley View University venture into Agribusiness

The university’s agric department  announced that they will henceforth be involved in poultry, maize, citrus, fish and honey production to feed the campus community and the surplus sold.

The Techiman campus of the Valley View University has taken bold steps to expand and commercialise ongoing agric initiatives.

Vice Rector of the university Mr. Asare Bediako Ankrah revealed that the campus will in the coming years commercialise agricultural activities.

The campus is currently utilizing 30 acres of land but plans to expand to 60 acres in no time.

Management of the university have also signed an agreement with a Kumasi based food beverage company ‘U-juice’ to process cashew juice produced from the school’s farm.

The school’s management will implement a five year development plan for this agribusiness initiative as part of innovative ways to generate more ways to support their activities.

“There are so many areas here they can invest in. They can decide to even put up hostel facilities for our agribusiness and the students, they can invest into the poultry production ,fish farming, mushroom production and all other aspects,” Mr. Bediako added.
