Duncan was handed a start in the face-off with Kevin-Prince Boateng who came on as an 82nd minute substitute for AC Milan replacing Keisuke Honda after his away team were down by two goals to nil.
Alfred Duncan scored the first goal of the game to send his Sassuolo side into the first half break leading by a goal to nil.
Nicola Sansone doubled the lead after the interval and despite the home team going down to ten men for the final 13 minutes of regulation time, they held their grounds and kept a clean sheet with a final 2-0 scoreline against AC Milan.
Sassuolo are 7th on the Italian Serie A table with 44 points after 28 games. AC Milan are 6th with 47 points after 28 games.
