Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has been handed his favourite No.3 jersey on his return to the gulf, where he has signed a one-year loan deal with Al Ahli.
The former Shanghai SIPG star was initially handed the jersey number 90 moments after landing a season loan deal with the Garden City club.
But the former Sunderland striker has now been handed his favourite number 3 shirt.
Gyan has been wearing his iconic nuumber 3 jersey since his days at Liberty in Ghana and has identified with it throughout his playing career.
He attained a legendary status during his four-year spell with the Garden Club, where he scored 128 goals in 123 matches to secure a number of major honours.
His 95 goals in 83 league matches from 2011-15 helped Al Ain clinch three top-flight titles. Gyan won three GoldenBoot awards and scored the winner in the 2014 President’s Cup final against Ahli.
