Torrential rains have flooded Tamale in the Northern Region displacing more than 700 residents.

Compounds houses were affected with damage to personal belongings running into thousands of Ghana cedis.

The rainstorm which lasted for several hours hit other surrounding communities of Tamale.
The rain accompanied by strong winds, destroyed houses, electric poles and uprooted several trees in the metropolis.
Roads in parts of the region also became immotorable.
Meanwhile, residents have appealed to authorities to construct storm bridges and drains in the community to help bring a lasting solution to the perennial flooding in the area.
