The Court of Appeal has dismissed a motion filed by human rights lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu who was seeking to put on hold the implementation of his suspension.
He was banned for three years after pleading guilty to charges brought against him.

One of the charges, on the basis of which he suffered a one-year ban, was out of a complaint brought by Mr. Agyare accusing the lawyer of attempting to swindle him.
The GLC also said that he had flouted the Professional Conduct and Etiquette rules by advertising his legal firm’s name and address on social media platform, Facebook.
Sosu, who was dissatisfied with the GLC’s decision, went to the Court of Appeal to quash the suspension.
But before the appeal would be heard, he also filed a motion seeking to halt the implementation of the suspension.
However, on Wednesday, July 26, the court presided over by Mr Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie dismissed the motion pending a determination of the substantive appeal case.
He said the jurisdiction of the court had not been triggered appropriately.
