Ghanaians on social media want Police to return donation from Chinese

The Chairman of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CAITEC Group, Tang Hong donated an amount of GH¢50,000 to the Police administration.

Ghanaians on social media have called on the Ghana Police Service to return money donated to them by the Chairman of the Ghana Association of Chinese Societies.

Most of them believe the donation will compromise the participation of the Police in fighting illegal mining (galamsey) in the country.

He said the donation was to support the construction of the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS) Headquarters at the Nima Police Station in the Greater Accra Region.
However many Ghanaian social media users have questioned the timing of the donation.

The donation was made at a time when most Ghanaians and the government at large are waging war against galamsey which is destroying the water bodies in the country.
Most people believe it will compromise the position of the Ghana Police in the fight.
