The school located at Teshie-Nungua in the Greater Accra Region was attended by former Presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor.

The school also opened with its inaugural matriculation with the first batch of 16 students to be trained.

President John Mahama in his speech said, "It gives me immense joy to know that there are fellow Ghanaians who would go to any length to sacrifice their personal comfort to invest in such a bold initiative as the establishment of our first private medical school."

Professor Kwawukume and his team first established a Hospital, then a Nursing School which has trained so many nursing assistants and they have now committed their resources in establishing Ghana’s first Private Medical School."
