It has been a long drawn out process but finally the Ghana Football Association met the three coaches in the frame for the Black Stars job.

A panel chaired by Kwesi Nyantakyi heard from current Cameroon coach Hugo Broos via Skype, as well as former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, also via Skype.

Former France international Willy Sagnol attended the interview in person, with his session lasting more than an hour.

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi insisted that the reason for the interview was to get a first hand sense of the plans of the two coaches,  their philosophy, and other expertise that they bring to the table.

A sticking point for Sagnol would have been his comments about how African players are strong but not intelligent enough.

Kwesi Appiah on the other hand has to show he has the personality to deal with big egos after his first spell was characterized by chaos at the 2014 world cup.

The GFA would now judge the three coaches based on their knowledge of  African football, coaching philosophy, communication skills and qualifications before announcing Avram Grant's successor.
