Three NDC supporters dead in Volta lake disaster

The Public Relations Officer of the regional police command ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the deceased and four other victims who survived were returning from the campaign launch of the NDC parliamentary candidate for Daboya-Mankarigu.

The Northern Regional Police Command have confirmed that three people have drowned in the White Volta.

The Public Relations Officer of the regional police command ASP Ebenezer Tetteh who confirmed the incident to Pulse.com.gh said the deceased and four other victims who survived were returning from the campaign launch of the NDC parliamentary candidate for Daboya-Mankarigu.

“They were seven in number and they were coming from the campaign launch of the Parliamentary candidate of Daboya-Mankarigu constituency. Three are confirmed dead now: Mavis Setor Kofi 19, Sanda Yusif 19 and Sadatu Abass 18.”

ASP Tetteh explained that the third casualty, Mavis Setor was found and rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital “but she died on arrival the other two were found already dead.”

ASP Tetteh said the police is currently “trying to identify the families of the deceased so that they can come for the bodies for burial processes.”
