"The way the club is moving forward now is great. They are back in the highest level [of Scottish football] again and are looking to strive forward to become the Rangers we all know," Dodoo told Rangers' website.
"The way the manager has the team playing suits me and he is also about developing young players, which is good for me.
"Did I have other options? Yeah of course but sometimes it's about making a decision based on what is best for me and I felt the manager here is the best one to nurture me and make me the player I want to be."
Dodoo made his breakthrough into Claudio Ranieri's Premier League-winning squad last season but has rejected fresh terms at the King Power Stadium to move north.
Dodoo netted a hat trick on his Leicester debut in a Capital One Cup clash with Bury before scoring against West Ham later in the same competition.
