Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings will be endorsed as the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP) on Saturday when the party heads to congress after no challenger emerged to contest her at close of nomination on Thursday.
The party is expected to elect its national executives and flagbearer at the congress after concluding its regional elections.
“As I am talking to you nobody has come out to pick forms apart from Nana konadu Agyeman Rawlings and we are waiting to see what will come out of it,” the party's communications director, Owusu Bempah said on Citi FM.
The congress will be held under the theme: "United for change; probity and accountability," a trump card the Rawlings have pursued since living office in 2000.
Konadu, whose daughter, Zenator Rawlings, is contesting on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress as MP aspirant, has ruled out any possibility of campaigning for her.
She broke away from the NDC after she was defeated at the party's congress in 2011 against the late Prof. Evans Attah Mills.
Her party could not contest the 2012 elections because it failed to meet a last minute deadline by the Electoral Commission.
