The widow, Linda Akwele Ocloo won the bid to represent the NDC by polling 5,156 votes, while Dr. Kpessa Whyte polled 3,372 votes.

The Executive Director of the National Service Secretariat, Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte has for the second time failed to get elected as the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the Shai Osudoku constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

In the party’s primary organized on Saturday, Dr. Kpessa Whyte lost the election to the widow of the party’s late Parliamentary candidate for the area, Desmond Ocloo who died in a motor accident in March.
Mrs. Ocloo, a teacher decided to contest the seat to honour her late husband.
In the first primary organized in November 2015, the late Ocloo contested the seat with four others including Dr. Kpessa Whyte.
He polled 4,350 votes, David Tetteh-Assumeng had 1280, Dr. Kpessah Whyte polled 3,189 votes, while Ebenezer Adzakli had 393.
