Italy based midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah has revealed his deep love for Kumasi Asante Kotoko and says he harbours a dream to put on the red shirt of the Ghanaian giants before he retires from football.
Asamoah who ow plays for Juventus in Serie A, began his career with Kumasi based Asokwa Deportivo before turning out for Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League affirmed he has been life-long Kotoko fan.
“I support Asante Kotoko because I’m Asante. I’ve been a Kotoko fan since I was born. My parents and everyone are Kotoko fans so it runs in the family," the 27 year old told Metro TV in an interview.
“I don’t follow the local league a lot, but I do once in a while via the internet," ,” the Italy based star explained why he may sometimes lose touch with his darling club.
Nevertheless, Asamoah insists the bond of love with the Kumasi club has never been lost and is still dreaming everyday on the possibility of donning the red jersey of the former Ghana and Africa champions.
“I haven’t actually thought about playing for the club before I retire but I know some friends currently playing in Europe would like to play there after their career abroad," Asamoah revealed.
"I’m talking about some of my colleagues in the Black Stars. I can’t mention their names but Asamoah Gyan is one," the former Udinese playmaker continued.
He added: "I wouldn’t mind playing too. Maybe, after my career abroad and I want to have a feel of the local league again before finally bringing my career to an end.”
